Services
Accounting
Getting the accounting right means knowing where you financially stand at any point in time, which is what makes a day-to-day financial decision possible.
Taxation
Tax only ever becomes more complicated. The division covers returns and activity statements, the structures underneath them, and the areas where a return stops being routine — investment property, residency, foreign income and research and development.
Estate & Trusts
Small changes done in advance can have big financial and logistical advantages down the track. The division works on the planning done ahead of time and on the obligations that arise after someone's passing.
Forensic & Legal
Sometimes you need independent, qualified advice to reveal what needs to be revealed. Financial records, transactions and documentation are analysed to unveil discrepancies, irregularities and potential evidence, alongside the legal professionals running the matter.
Self Managed Super
At a certain point in life it can make good and logical sense to manage your own superannuation. The division sets a fund up, guides the management and compliance that follow, and can introduce the investment and insurance advisers a trustee may need.
Questions people ask
- Do I need to lodge an individual tax return?
- That depends. To answer this question the practice recommends using the 'Do I need to lodge' tool in the ATO online services portal within your myGov account.
- I haven't lodged a tax return for a long time. Can I lodge retrospectively?
- Yes, and you should lodge as soon as possible. Amounts you owe the ATO accrue interest, which can be quite significant, and not lodging on time also leaves you subject to financial penalties.
- How much do you charge to complete a tax return?
- The base price for an individual tax return is $200 (excl. GST), and is subject to other factors. Accounting fees are generally tax deductible.
- I don't have much information for prior years, such as payment summaries. Can I still lodge?
- Yes. If you can provide your tax file number, the practice can estimate your tax position by accessing the ATO portal, which contains historical records in most cases.
- When are BAS statements due?
- July, August and September are due 28 October; October, November and December are due 28 February; January, February and March are due 28 April; April, May and June are due 28 July. Different deadlines apply if you are a head company for a consolidated group.
- When are IAS statements due?
- IAS statements are due monthly, on the 21st day of the following month.
