About

In the practice's own words, from its website

PrincipleFocus is an agri-focused advisory practice with offices in Dubbo and Warren. Since 1929 it has partnered with farming families and regional businesses in New South Wales, helping them navigate into a more certain future; the company through which it practises has been registered as a tax agent since 2009.

The practice describes what it does as sitting beside regional and agricultural family businesses to help drive change, build certainty and deliver better outcomes — taking the time to understand what matters to the client, their family and their business, which means meaningful conversations, practical plans of action and honest guidance that promotes business thinking rather than only numbers.

It believes in practical solutions over theory, straight-talking advice over jargon, and building businesses that support the communities they serve. Its own image for that is a windscreen rather than a rearview mirror: the focus is the future, where the opportunities are, because history cannot be changed.

Seven lines of work run across the practice — management accounting, education and business systems, strategic planning, business restructures, business coaching, succession planning, and tax planning and advisory. It works primarily with agribusiness, property and regional businesses. Liability limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation.

Services

  • Management Accounting

Turning complex numbers into clear decisions. The practice's management accounting looks at what is ahead rather than only at what is behind, so the reporting is something a business steers by.

  • Education & Business Systems

Streamlined systems and the practical training that makes a team use them, so the business runs without the owner being the bottleneck in it.

  • Strategic Planning

Practical roadmaps that translate a vision into daily decisions, with clarity about where the business is going and how it gets there.

  • Business Restructures

Structures that protect what matters while positioning a business for growth and future transitions — the legal framework, the model behind it and the financial analysis that shows where the business actually stands.

  • Business Coaching

For the owner who already knows what needs to be done and needs someone to make sure it happens: strategic guidance combined with old-fashioned accountability, regular CFO-style sessions, and the few metrics that matter.

  • Succession Planning

Building a business that can one day be sold or handed over rather than one that ends at retirement. The practice guides a succession framework that takes in all the parties and factors, documents the family's goals, and then builds the process to progress it.

  • Tax Planning & Advisory

Meeting tax obligations seamlessly and straightforwardly: navigating complex and constantly evolving legislation, and building the planning and processes into the business so tax time is not crunch time.
