Southgate Accountants was founded in 2003 by Adam Southgate. The firm is located in Bundall on the Gold Coast, and says its motivation is to truly connect with its clients rather than seeing them as another number on a spreadsheet.

In its own words: we may be accountants, but we don't see ourselves as purely numbers people — we're relationship people. It describes itself as a small firm with a broad base of skills and experience, committed to ongoing education and training so it can continue to expand and improve on the services it offers.

For many of the businesses it works with, having a dedicated team to assist with accounting and taxation gives them peace of mind, and — more importantly, the practice says — the ability to make informed financial decisions that will allow them to nurture their businesses, both today and into the future. Seven services are published in all, from accounting and taxation through to superannuation and company secretarial work. The office is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm.

    Whether the concern is taxation, accounting, business planning, cashflow and budgeting or business valuation, the practice's staff are available to advise. The accounting and compliance work runs from the annual accounts through to the PAYG and GST records that sit behind them.

    The practice regularly deals with a broad range of personal and corporate taxation issues and makes a point of understanding the individual needs of every client — company tax, personal tax effectiveness, and indirect taxation including payroll tax and GST.
